Life Writing: Lunch and Lecture with Willard Spiegelman

SMU Libraries presents a lecture by Willard Spiegelman, Hughes Professor of English, emeritus, "Life Writing, or How I Came, in Old Age, to Write a Biography." One year after publishing a biography of the late American poet Amy Clampitt (1920-1994), Spiegelman will reflect on the importance of biography as a genre, and about life writing in general. Who deserves a biography? Everyone, that's who. Spiegelman will talk about Clampitt, her life and work, and also about his work as a biographer, and the paths he went down. Lunch will be served and copies of Nothing Stays Put: The Life and Poetry of Amy Clampitt will be available for purchase. Please contact Carrie Johnston (cjohnston@smu.edu) with any questions.
