Come learn about the initiatives of SMU Libraries on Giving Day! Stop by our table at the Starbucks in Fondren Library anytime from 9:15 a.m. until 5 p.m. to love your Libraries – and pick up some Libraries swag when you make a gift.
This Giving Day, SMU Libraries is fundraising for the following initiatives:
- Student Spaces in Fondren Library: Your contribution will support the addition of study spaces in Fondren Library. Funds raised on Giving Day for student spaces will impact student success by enhancing student learning environments, promoting collaboration with more group study spaces, and ensuring that study spaces suit all students’ needs in the years to come.
- Friends of SMU Libraries: Your contribution to the Friends of SMU Libraries will support the organization’s effort to promote and enrich the resources, services and operations of the Libraries. The Friends have provided funding for the Student Worker Excellence Award, the student-led film series at Hamon Arts Library, learning equipment at Duda Family Business Library, and more.
- Voices of SMU Oral History Project: Your gift to the Voices of SMU Oral History Project supports student research and enables the preservation of SMU history. Graduate and undergraduate research assistants conduct oral history interviews with alumni from underrepresented groups, present at research conferences, and publish their findings, all while preserving SMU history within the walls of Fondren Library.
Already checking out Giving Day festivities on campus? Be sure to visit the Libraries on Dallas Hall Lawn from 11:45 a.m. until 2:15 p.m., where we will support Giving Day programming and have Libraries swag and treats.
