Winter Holidays: Dallas Style
The celebration of Christmas and New Year’s in Dallas during the mid-19th century was quite different from today, with fireworks, dances at local taverns, and feasts of wild game being common. By the end of the century, the Christmas tree, jolly old St. Nick (Santa Claus), and religious observances had become the norm. Learn more about holiday traditions in Dallas during the Victorian Era in a program presented by local historian and long-time Friends member Dr. Michael V. Hazel.
