Introduction to Searching for Data
This workshop introduces participants to finding and accessing publicly available datasets, as well as to library-subscribed databases that provide downloadable data.
What databases do we subscribe to from which you can download datasets? Where can you find geospatial data? What other free databases exist and how can you find them? What is web scraping, text mining? What do we need to know if asked about downloading data from our databases?
