Introduction to Data Cleaning with OpenRefine
Event box
Have you ever worked with a dataset that contains errors or inconsistencies that need correction or cleaning? This workshop provides a very basic introduction to data cleaning using OpenRefine and introduces participants to core concepts and workflows for improving data quality.
What types of data issues can OpenRefine help identify? How do you import data into OpenRefine and understand rows, columns, and cells? How can filtering, faceting, and clustering be used to find and correct inconsistencies or errors? How do you export cleaned data for further analysis or reuse?
